T H E P R A C T I C E
Christina Florand has an educational background and degree in Psychology and Criminology. Her passion lies in helping individuals and businesses successfully resolve their conflict outside of court, before legal action becomes a large expense and emotionally exhausting. She studied at the University of South Florida and has been a Mediator for 10 years. She has recently added Arbitration services to her practice. Prior to that, she had experience as owner and operator of a small business. This history has given rise to the ability to mediate small business disputes successfully.
Her personal endeavors include, being a mentor and program developer for Booker Middle school and Emma E. Booker Elementary. Helping the children assigned to her that require guidance in the realms of conflict avoidance, conflict management, and most importantly coping skills that can be used throughout their lifetime.
She is additionally on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit known as, The Social Black Belt. This social and emotional wellness program is currently being integrated into Sarasota County schools and helps children from 4th, 6th, and 9th grades. She loves working with women as well and co-facilitates a workshop at the Women's Resource Center in Venice called: You are Worthy! Learning to Raise Your Own Bar!
She enjoys traveling the world, yoga, and being the proud parent of a thirteen year old daughter. All of these experiences as well as building houses, businesses, and going through a divorce personally, have given her valuable experience in managing and relating to a variety of mediation cases.
